How we deliver our skills training courses |

Our instructors are more than simply great mountain bikers, they’re outdoor education experts too. This shows in their calm, practical and progressive approach to skills development.
When you come on a course we aim to make you feel relaxed, comfortable and in the right frame of mind for trying out new things in a friendly environment. We will still challenge and stretch you when the time is right, and our expertise is in knowing how to help you achieve as much as possible during your time with us.
As the UK’s most widely and regularly published mtb skills authors we have been leading the way in skills research for mountain bikers in the UK for many years. The R&D time we invest generates real results for our clients – allowing us to get right to the heart of your skills issues and get you riding better in the shortest possible time. Our team have decades of analysis experience, which means they’ll quickly spot what you need to do to turn problems and frustration into big grins and advanced mountain biking skills.
In addition to the physical riding skills that are covered on our courses, we understand how issues of confidence and mental control affect riders too. As experienced educators and instructors we have the tools to address these more challenging topics, using some established and some highly creative techniques to get you focussed on your biking in a constructive and positive way.
Recently our director and senior course designer – Chris Ford – was awarded the highest accolade in the country for any mountain bike leader or trainer. Chris was appointed as one of just five Mentor Tutors for the national governing body Mountain Bike Leader Award scheme. He will not only train leaders and instructors of the future, but give best practice advice on how all MBLA leaders are trained across the UK.
